So sitting here feeling another coffee fueled creative wave at 1:00 am, I thought I would start this blog back up. Except this "resurrection" so to speak will be a little different than my previous blog.
Seeing as that I am about to call Austin, Texas my new home I want to explore commercial music not just as a product but more so as a culture. Considering a musicians point of view as well as a listener and a fan and even a student.
I will travel over genre boundaries to look far and wide to find new music for you to love or to hate and also give my two cents and music you already know.
The point of this blog is not to bombard hard-working artists with criticism and hate or even smother them in words of adoration and worship. My purpose here is to uncover the artist behind the songs and the person behind the album art. Even though I like how Watsky put it when he said "Kill a Hipster Save Your Hood" my approach isn't necessarily as violent. Although I do apologize in advance hipsters, I am trying to bring your "obscure" music to a more mainstream light, but I promise I will leave your favorite coffee shops, thrift shops and record stores alone (for now).
So if you like music, opinions without filters, or even just like to read things that are occassionally humorous, please keep up with my blog.
Hope you enjoy this journey with me!
